Based on the visual methodologies technique of analyzing Inception to find the paradox surrounding Cobb, I took a look at the primary interpretation first. I have only seen the film once in theaters, so I viewed clips and snapshots from the movie to refresh my memory specifically about the objects and iconography in it that would help my visual analysis. My natural primary analysis of the ending (possible spoiler:) is that Cobb is indeed in reality at the end and that the paradox is that if the inception assignment is completed successfully, none of the events would have happened the way that they did. Following the clues further into a secondary, iconographic interpretation of the images and icons in the film, the spinning top symbolizes Mal's totem, not Cobb's, so it is not reliable and represents that Cobb is creating his own reality here. Finally, the intrinsic aspect of the film is that these elements point to the fact that the audience never knows if we are simply seeing someone's dream or if we are out of the dream.
